Willow Class Home Learning - Thursday 30/04/2020

Date: 30th Apr 2020 @ 8:19am

Good morning,

I hope that you are enjoying the Zog story as much as I am, I have seen some wonderful pictures of Zog that some of you have drawn and emailed to me so thank you.

For today's writing task I want you to think about imagining that you have arrived at your chosen destination after Zog has flown you there (from yesterday's task).  Write a postcard from that place to the people back at home.  Tell them how you are feeling in this place (for me it was the zoo), what the weather is like, what you have been up to and what you are missing about being at home.  You can also draw a picture of the place that you have flown to on the blank side of your green working book.

Also for today, it is Captain Tom Moore's 100th birthday!  Ahead of his 100th birthday celebration, war veteran Captain Tom Moore set himself the challenge of walking 100 laps of his garden to help raise money for the NHS.
His challenge has raised awareness all over the world and has led to many others setting their own similar challenges!  Captain Tom has also lifted the spirits of many during difficult circumstances.  Tom has become a hero to the nation for his act of kindness to raise money and inspire other people to become more active and kind to others.

I would like you to think about continuing your acts of kindness from your Learning Grid but also to write about your hero at the moment and why.  Currently, my little hero is my four year old daughter Amelia.  She has made cards for her friends and family to say she is missing them and she has drawn a lot of chalk pictures and activities on paths during our daily walks to cheer other children up. She remains happy and cheers me up, reminding me to  take time to stop and smell the flowers.

Have a nice day, missing you all, Mrs Mcilroy : )
