Headteachers Update - Coronavirus

Dear Parents and Carers

We continue to review the current situation with regards to the recent outbreak of coronavirus across the country. Whilst we have had no cases connected to the school we are closely following the planning and advice from the government and Public Health England. This is updated on a daily basis. We also have our own risk assessment that all staff have access to.

We are planning for any potential disruption to school life so that we can best manage any turbulence over the next few weeks.  At this stage the advice is for schools to remain open and to operate as normal. Should the spread of the virus starts to impact on the safe running of the school we will of course keep all parents informed of any action we need to take.

We are taking a number of measures to support with the ‘delay’ phase we are currently in. Children are being encouraged to wash their hands regularly and staff will have spent time teaching children how to do this following public health guidelines.

Public Health England have published new advice for anyone with a new continuous cough or high temperature to stay at home for seven days. If you child has these symptoms, however mild, please keep them at home. This will help protect others in your community whilst they are infectious. Please plan ahead and ask others for help so that your child can stay at home.

It is also essential that communication between home and school is a high priority and we will ensure that we keep you updated through school spider and social media.

Maintaining the education provision for all of our children is important but our priority is rightly around their health and well being. I would like to thank you in advance for your support regarding this matter over the coming weeks.

Please stay safe and look after each other.

Yours Sincerely
