Key Workers Update 20th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Schools have been asked to remain open as an act of public service to care for those children of key workers needed in the fight against the COVID-19 Coronavirus and children deemed most vulnerable.  The Government is asking parents to keep their children safe at home.

It is important to underline the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals across Halton.

If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, or you work in one of the critical sectors outlined in the link below, our school is committed to providing childcare whilst you are at work.  We are also committed to keeping our opening hours from 7.30am to 6.00pm to enable you to keep the country operating.  If you are a shift worker or have a flexibly working pattern, please advise school of the days and times childcare is needed.

Many parents working in these sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home and every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.

Furthermore, we will take all practical children safe and those on EHCP plans and will endeavor to provide care as and when needed.

If you are considered a key line worker, please verify with your employer that you do not have the option to work from home and therefore require childcare before contacting school.

In summary the scientific guidance is clear the fewer children we have in school each day, the greater chance we have of limiting the risk of the virus spreading.

Please telephone school on 01928572343 stating that it is absolutely necessary for school to care for your child because you are a front line worker who is needed now.  By sending your child to school you are indicating that you understanding the associated risks, both to them and others, and agree to accept them.

These are testing times and it is our duty to try and keep everybody safe.  At the moment everyone has lots of questions, please feel free to contact school and we will try our best to answer them.

Stay safe and please look after each other
