Maple Class Home Learning - Monday 23.3.20

Date: 22nd Mar 2020 @ 10:28pm

I hope that you've all had some lovely family time this weekend. Each day I will post a writing and a Maths and some other suggestions for activities.

Children will also have tasks set on Education City and in Purple Mash if they can access these.

If children would like to post any work that they have done on Purple Mash blogs, they can but this isn't essential. This could be by posting a photograph of written work and posting work to the blog.
Remember, any questions, children can ask on the blog or parents can email me at Mrshavard@westfieldprimaryschool.com

Maths
Work through the pages, starting at 'A' then moving through until you find the work too challenging (this will be a different point for everyone).
There are also games and teaching activities related to fractions on Education City and Purple Mash.
Blue book p.68
Green book p.65

Yellow book p.45

Remember that there are examples of how to do the work at the top of the page and you can ask for help on the blog. I will give out the answers in tomorrow's blog.

Writing
For today's writing, I would like you to write a letter to one of your friends in the class discussing what you have been doing over the weekend.
Paragraph 1: What activities have you done? Where? With who? When?
Paragraph 2: How are you feeling about being home from school? Or in school with less people?
Paragraph 3: What questions have you got for them?

Can you include:

  • A range of punctuation (full stops, capital letters, commas, exclamation marks and question marks, apostrophes)
  • Paragraphs
  • Emotions words
  • Year 4, can you include fronted adverbials followed by a comma?

Remember you can use your exercise book or 2 Write on Purple Mash. I hope everyone is keeping well and looking after each other.
