Oak Class Home Learning 22.05.2020

Date: 22nd May 2020 @ 7:40am

Good morning Oak Class!

Once again, we have made it to the end of another working week. Today also marks the end of the half term, so next week, I won’t be updating our daily class blog. With this in mind, I hope you all have a fabulous week and please remember that if you need me, you can still contact me via your personal blog, or ask an adult to email me. I will regularly check these over the course of the week.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

Chapter Five – Diagon Alley

This is one of my favourite chapters from the book (although I’m a big Harry Potter fan so I like all aspects of the stories). In this chapter, Harry goes shopping with Hagrid for all of the things he needs for Hogwarts. It’s a really magical point in the story as Harry sees the wizarding world for the first time.

If you have a copy of the text then please read this chapter.

Here is a link to the film clip which depicts this chapter:

Today, I would like you to think of the setting Diagon Alley and from this, design your own shop that you might expect to find there. Your shop could sell whatever you like, but remember, it’s in the wizarding world so the products need to have some element of magic!

Draw a picture of your shop front on a blank page and then some of the products that you wish to sell. Accompany your drawing with a paragraph of writing (on the lined side) to describe it. I would like to know what you sell, where you source your products from and what the shop looks like inside. Please make this detailed and interesting for the reader.

I hope you all have a lovely day! I know some of you are coming to the end of your home learning books, so if you need a new one, please contact school and they can arrange for one to be given to you.

Keep safe everyone and I’ll speak to you soon. Have a fabulous half term break!

Missing you all as always.

Love,

Mrs Davies
