Willow Class Home Learning - Thursday 07/05/2020

Date: 7th May 2020 @ 7:36am

Hello Willow Class,

Today is our last day on Room on the Broom as it is a bank holiday tomorrow for the 75th anniversary of V.E Day.

For today's writing task, I want you to think about where the witch and her friends should travel to next on their broom.  Write a setting description of where they would fly to and write about and draw their adventure when they are there.

As I have mentioned above, it is V.E Day tomorrow.  Here is a link to a song that explains about this day - https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/watch/horrible-histories-songs-ve-day-song

V.E Day is celebrated each year to remember the Nazis surrendering and ending World War 2.  Everyone celebrated and remembered those people who fought and died in the war to save our country.  This year, the celebrations will be different but a lot of people are decorating their houses and gardens with bunting and flags.  Could you create your own decorations? You could also design a medal for a soldier who fought in the Second World War to thank them for their bravery.

I have attached a photograph of Amelia with some painting that we did this week to prepare for tomorrow!

Enjoy your long weekend.  Feel free to still email me with any photographs of activities that you have been up to or an email just to check in with myself about how you and your family are getting on.

Keep smiling,

Mrs McIlroy : )
